After just over a week in Thunder Bay we finally got back on the water and paddled away from Joan's Mother Superior The area between the Sleeping Giant and Rossport is still well paddled so there are a fair few 'rustic' campsites. A Bit Too Superior? Well fed, and after a bottle of wine, we had a slightly leisurely start the next morning. Leaving Rossport we Huronimo!!!! Our drive down to 'The Soo' was beautiful but sad as we both quietly observed all the majesty of this The Great (Lakes) Escape The Great Lakes, Superior and Huron, have dominated our lives for the last five weeks. And they've dominated our thoughts Up the French! We left our final Lake Huron camp shortly after dawn in a gorgeous flat calm, painfully aware of our limited Downhill all the way! Pontoon at the Sunset Inn We left the Sunset Inn and paddled the remaining 5km or so towards North Bay, Dead heads and warm hearts 'Apart from a few short sections of rapids this part of the Ottawa river can be considered a series of Simply Capital!
